ABOUT US

Thoughtpiece.com is a website that is operated and managed by a broad group of friends who are ambitious learners. We all wanted to take this next step, by committing to a project that centred on reading. Thoughtpiece.com is that little nudge we all needed that makes us pick up a book whenever we can.

All of us share this common interest, but with a slight twist – we are keen, but deliberate readers. Besides appreciating good writing we add to the experience by expanding our general knowledge in a purposeful way (note, we think this enhances the fun!). This means selecting the right books and extracting and storing some of their insights.

We also endeavour to limit any incentive caused biases, because we probably have enough innate ones as human beings. Thus, a requirement for participation is that we have no political or religious associations or profit motives that may encourage blind spots in our thinking or cause our views to be pulled in any subjective direction.

Our backgrounds are reasonably diverse and we are generalists – not a single PHD exists among us (yet?). We are also, maybe slightly less than we imagine, very open minded people who try our best to promote criticism and to regulate integrity.

Should the need arise to open the website to more people, we will certainly do so in future. In the interim, we welcome any feedback.
