WELCOME TO THOUGHT PIECE

Welcome to our homepage. Thoughtpiece.com is an independent website, run by passionate readers, with the aim of encouraging us to read more formally and to broaden our general knowledge. It addresses two main frustrations we had - we all had day jobs and felt we did not read enough and then, when we did, we had partial or fuzzy recollection of what we did read. Thoughtpiece.com now commits us to read more and to discuss, store and write about what inspired us.

Perhaps a good place to start is at our book thoughts tab. Here, you will get a feel for what books and which authors have inspired us so far. Books are undoubtedly our preferred source of inspiration. Each book on our website will have a summary that we hope adequately captures it's central thesis, with added commentary that is meaningful to the original reader of that book. There is an evident bias toward non-fiction.

In addition to these book summaries, we also draft monthly thoughtpiece essays that represent opinions and insights from various books and other media that we think are interesting and insightful. Collectively, these essays represent an ongoing store of knowledge we can fall back on. You may wish to subscribe to these.

This website has no agenda, commercial or otherwise, other than to deepen our knowledge base and to record and present opinions on various fascinating subjects. We also expect our commentators to remain anonymous, so as to encourage original thinking and to write for themselves, before writing for an audience. We think our rewards are obvious - we get to read interesting books and to talk about them!
